Rankings are based on how much it would cost a couple to stay in a hotel, have dinner, and take a couple of cab rides. The amount for Boston: $450. In New York, the same package would cost $457, TripAdvisor said. | |||

Call center opens in New BedfordA company that provides customer support call services to other companies has opened a facility in New Bedford that could mean up to 100 new jobs. UpSource Inc.’s 10,000-square foot facility that opened Tuesday provides services to a variety of industries, including retail, health care, and telecommunications. UpSource currently employs about 60 people locally and aims to increase its staff to 75 by October and 90 in January. The company, which also operates call centers in Nova Scotia and Oklahoma, has a total of 380 employees. | |||

Talbots, Sycamore to delay start of tender offerTalbots Inc., a Hingham retailer known for classically styled clothing for middle-age women, and Sycamore Partners have agreed to push back the start of the tender offer tied to Talbots’ buyout by two days until Friday. The companies gave no reason for the delay. Last month, Talbots agreed to be taken private by New York-based Sycamore Partners for about $193.3 million in cash. Talbots’ stockholders will receive $2.75 per share. The price was almost 10 percent less than the $3.05 per share that Sycamore had previously offered. | |||
Hub biotech Rhythm raises $25mRhythm, a Boston biotechnology company focused on diabetes and obesity, announced Wednesday that it has raised $25 million in a Series B financing round. The Series B financing brings the total capital raised by Rhythm to $65 million. Rhythm said it will use the proceeds to continue advancing its small-peptide therapeutics for metabolic diseases through Phase 2 clinical trials. Liberty Mutual renews sponsorship of Boston’s Fourth of July concerts through 2015Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Boston-based global property and casualty insurer, announced Tuesday that it will renew its sponsorship of the Boston Pops Fourth of July Fireworks display and concert through 2015. The three-year sponsorship agreement totals about $8 million. The new sponsorship agreement will preserve a 39-year tradition that offers a free concert to an estimated 500,000 people who visit the Charles River Esplanade on the Fourth of July. Liberty Mutual has been the event’s sponsor since 2005. | |||
