New stores are coming to the Burlington Mall

The Burlington Mall said that Athleta, Crumbs Bake Shop, and Corn & Co. are joining its store line-up. Another recent addition to the mall is The Art of Shaving. And as new stores open, some existing Burlington Mall tenants are renovating their spaces. Eddie Bauer, J.Jill, Stride Rite, ALDO, and EXPRESS are among stores falling into this category. All told, Burlington Mall has about 185 stores, including anchors Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s, and Sears.

Mark O’Connell will be Wolf & Co.’s new chief executive

The accounting firm Wolf & Co. said Friday that Mark O’Connell will become its president and chief executive, effective July 1. O’Connell, who currently serves as the director of the firm’s Springfield office, will succeed Daniel DeVasto, who has been elected chairman of the firm. DeVasto plans to serve in that capacity until his scheduled retirement in September 2013. Wolf & Co. has offices in Boston, Springfield, and Albany, N.Y., and has a head count of more than 175 employees.

The Kraft Group invests in Calif. paper mills

The Kraft Group and Schwarz Partners LP, two family-owned and operated companies in the paper and packaging industry, said they have entered into an agreement with International Paper Corp. to buy two container-board mills in California. Headquartered in Foxborough, the Kraft Group is the holding company for the Kraft family’s various businesses. One division includes the New England Patriots. A major business for the family is paper and packaging manufacturing and the distribution of forest products.

Belmont Savings Bank sets ribbon-cutting for branch in Waltham

Belmont Savings Bank has scheduled a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Friday morning to mark the official opening of a new branch in Waltham, the bank’s first expansion in more than a decade. The branch is located inside of a Shaw’s Supermarket on Lexington Avenue. According to its website, Belmont Savings Bank is a $700 million community bank with branches in Belmont and Watertown. The new branch at the Shaw’s is the bank’s first foray into Waltham.

HFF arranges $95m refinancing of office building at 116 Huntington Ave.

HFF, a firm that provides commercial real estate and capital markets services, said it has arranged a $95 million refinancing for 116 Huntington Ave., a Boston office building located between the Copley Place Marriott and the Colonnade Hotel. HFF said it worked on behalf of the property’s owner, Broadway Real Estate Fund III L.P., to secure the adjustable-rate loan through a unit of RBC Capital Markets. The loan proceeds were used to refinance the maturing first mortgage and mezzanine loans.

Sun Life acquires naming rights for the Celtics Courtside Club

The US business unit of Sun Life Financial Inc. said it has acquired the naming rights to the Boston Celtics Courtside Club as part of a multi-year partnership renewal that starts next basketball season. The Courtside Club is the team’s primary hospitality venue in the TD Garden; it is used for entertaining team ownership, courtside ticket holders, corporate partners, and VIP guests during each Celtics home game. The club will be renamed the Sun Life Courtside Club.

Mass. bank buys Conn. bank

WEST SPRINGFIELD — A western Massachusetts-based bank has announced plans to buy a Connecticut bank for $91 million in cash and stock. The purchase of Enfield-Conn.-based New England Bank by West Springfield-based United Bank announced Thursday will expand United’s presence into Hartford, Tolland, New Haven and Litchfield counties in Connecticut, where New England Bank operates 15 full-service banking offices and two administrative offices. The combined banks will have $2.4 billion in assets and more than 300 employees.

Hilton Boston Downtown workers unionize

After nine months of sit-ins, picketing, and discussions with management, hotel workers at the Hilton Boston Downtown on Friday will become part of the local hospitality workers’ union. Many of the 75 housekeepers, front desk attendants, and other employees at the Financial District hotel will get a $2-an-hour pay increase and become eligible for health insurance through Unite Here Local 26, said union president Brian Lang.

Group urges state to get Amazon.com to collect sales taxes

An organization whose make-up includes retailers, labor unions, trade and business associations, said it is urging the Massachusetts Department of Revenue to ask that giant Internet retailer Amazon begin collecting state sales tax on its online transactions no later than July 1. The organization calls itself the Massachusetts Main Street Fairness Coalition. The coalition’s letter comes the day after Governor Chris Christie announced that Amazon would begin collecting sales tax in New Jersey.

Dunkin’ gears up for National Donut Day

In the culinary calendar, few moveable feasts are more high and holy than National Donut Day, and to celebrate, Dunkin’ Donuts said that participating restaurants nationwide will offer customers a free donut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage. National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, Canton-based Dunkin’ noted. And that means that Dunkin’s National Donut Day special offer is scheduled for tomorrow --- at least for as long as supplies last.

Moderate growth, then slowdown, projected for Mass., New England economy

Massachusetts’ economy, which has weathered the recession and its aftermath better than the nation, will continue to grow, but at a slow to moderate pace through 2016, according to a new forecast by the New England Economic Partnership. Employment will expand moderately over the next few years, but slow in 2016 as retiring baby boomers leave the labor force, according to the forecast. Massachusetts is projected to add 30,000 to 40,000 jobs a year in 2012 and 2013.
