Click and Clack of ‘Car Talk’ fame will live on in reruns on SiriusXM Public Radio

Sirius XM Radio Inc., a national satellite radio network with 23.4 million subscribers, said it will begin regularly airing reruns of “Car Talk,” the long-running public radio show that starred Tom and Ray Magliozzi, also known as Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers. The reruns will be heard on SiriusXM Public Radio, one of the network’s more than 130 channels. The plan is to air three back-to-back episodes from the show’s 25-year history on Mondays through Fridays.

Tom Brady plugs UGG for Men in new ads

A new TV ad for UGG for Men that stars Tom Brady of the New England Patriots started airing Monday, said M&C Saatchi, the Los Angeles-based ad agency that created the ad. Titled “Pink Slip” and premiering on ESPN, ESPN2, and NFL Network, a TV ad features Brady, a football rookie, and the Ascot, a popular slipper in the UGG for Men line. According to UGG, this sheepskin-lined slipper is an “icon of casual elegance.” The icon generally retails from $110 to $130, and the Ascot has been a popular holiday gift item.

4,000 Massachusetts homeowners have benefited from US mortgage settlement with major lenders

Nearly 4,000 Massachusetts borrowers have received some kind of housing-debt relief this year as part of a national mortgage settlement involving five major lenders, with each homeowner averaging about $67,457 in financial assistance, according to federal report released Monday.

Digital ad agency Digitas: Thanksgiving should also be known as ‘Mobile Thursday’

In the days before smartphones and iPads, it was simply known as Thanksgiving, but now digital ad agency Digitas thinks it should also be known as “Mobile Thursday.” A new survey from Boston-based Digitas and Harris Interactive concludes that smartphone shopping is becoming so prevalent on Thanksgiving that the day needs to be rebranded as “Mobile Thursday” so it can assume its rightful place in the retail calendar along with Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Massachusetts gas prices fall 3 cents a gallon, AAA says

The average price for gas in Massachusetts is $3.589 a gallon in the latest weekly survey from AAA, down 3 cents a gallon from the previous week’s average, AAA Southern New England said. Local prices have fallen 18 cents over the past month, AAA Southern New England added. The current national average price for gas is $3.41 a gallon. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $3.33.

Vince Wilfork teams up with Eastern Bank in holiday Toys for Tots drive

New England Patriots star Vince Wilfork is teaming up with Eastern Bank to launch and promote a holiday Toys for Tots collection campaign in partnership with the US Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program, Eastern Bank said. All 94 Eastern Bank retail offices will serve as official toy drop-off locations, and all members of the public are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys at any Eastern Bank branch through Dec. 17.

MiniLuxe is opening a ‘beauty lounge’ in Hingham

MiniLuxe, a Needham-based chain of “beauty lounges” where customers can get buffed, manicured, and waxed, said it is opening its seventh location this month at the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. According to the company, one of its specialties is its “signature foot facial which offers a cooling, anti-inflammatory mask infused with algae extract and spearmint oil.” And let’s not forget “the luxurious warm oil manicure.”

Medical education provider Pri-Med buys Amazing Charts, an electronic health records firm

Pri-Med, a Boston-based provider of professional medical education to a community of more than 260,000 clinicians, said Monday that it has purchased Amazing Charts, a Rhode Island company that provides electronic health records to independent medical practices. Pri-Med’s press release said that financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed. Amazing Charts will operate as an independent subsidiary of Pri-Med, and Amazing Charts founder Jonathan Bertman will continue to serve as president.

Davis Cos. raises $414 million for second real estate fund

The Davis Cos. of Boston said it raised $414 million for its second real estate development fund. Called Davis Investment Ventures Fund II, the fund plans to focus on properties in the Northeast and will also use debt to invest in up to $1.2 billion worth of real estate. Davis said it currently owns and manages about 6 million square feet of real estate in the region with a 95 percent occupancy rate. The firm recently acquired a 75,000-square-foot office building in the South Boston Innovation District.

Fidelity plans to move Boston headquarters to Summer St. after decades on Devonshire

Fidelity Investments said Friday it plans to move the company’s Boston headquarters to 245 Summer St., eventually vacating the corporate offices at 82 Devonshire St. where chairman Edward “Ned” C. Johnson 3d has worked since the 1970s. The old building houses 600 employees, who will eventually be moved to other locations of the mutual fund and brokerage giant. Fidelity already has 2,900 employees at 245 Summer St., which is next to South Station, including president Abigail P. Johnson, and Ronald O’Hanley, head of asset management and corporate services.

American City Business Journals buys Boston’s Streetwise Media

American City Business Journals of Charlotte, N.C., has acquired the Boston online news start-up Streetwise Media Inc., which is best known for its website Bostinno.com that covers the area’s growing technology sector, the two companies announced Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. American City Business Journals, a subsidiary of New York’s Advance Publications Inc., also publishes the Boston Business Journal and Mass High Tech. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
