Boston PR firm Denterlein acquires Morrissey & Co.

Denterlein, a Boston-based public relations and strategic communications firm, said Thursday that it has acquired Morrissey & Co., a small PR firm with some different areas of expertise. Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. Denterlein has a focus on the health care, professional services, and higher education industries as well as on public policy. Morrissey & Co. has generally gravitated toward the life sciences, financial services, consumer, and technology sectors.

Rectrix Aviation is launching operations at Worcester Regional Airport

Rectrix Aviation, a private jet charter company based at Hanscom Field in Bedford, is launching fixed-based operations at Worcester Regional Airport on Thursday, providing services such as maintenance and fueling to general aviation aircraft. As part of a deal with the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs the Worcester airport, Rectrix will invest $5 million to develop office space and hangars that can accommodate large corporate jets. Rectrix is also launching fixed-based operations at Hanscom next year and will invest $15 million there.

ConforMIS relocates to Bedford as it looks to accommodate growth

ConforMIS Inc., a privately held medical device company that specializes in orthopedic implants, said Thursday that it has relocated its headquarters to 28 Crosby Drive in Bedford

TJX reports 7 percent same-store sales rise for October

TJX Cos., the Framingham company that operates such retail chains as T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods, said its same-store sales for October rose 7 percent and added it is raising its third-quarter and full-year guidance. Same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, are considered a strong indicator of a retailer’s performance.

Vertex announces hepatitis C collaborations with GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced collaborations with two other drug companies, GlaxoSmithKline and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, to work on various potential treatments for hepatitis C, a serious liver disease that is spread through direct contact with the blood of infected people. The collaborations involve a Vertex hepatitis C drug candidate dubbed VX-135, which will now be tested in combination therapies that include drugs made by GlaxoSmithKline and Janssen.

Genzyme says studies show encouraging results for its Lemtrada MS drug candidate

Genzyme, now a Cambridge unit of French drug maker Sanofi SA, announced the publication of encouraging results from its studies of Lemtrada, its drug candidate for multiple sclerosis. Results were published in the online edition of the medical journal Lancet. Lemtrada is currently being reviewed by European regulators, and at some point, Genzyme plans to submit a drug application for Lemtrada to the US Food and Drug Administration.

Ironwood Pharmaceuticals renews its Cambridge lease and will add another floor of space

Cambridge drug maker Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc., which had considered building a new headquarters on the South Boston waterfront, Route 128, or elsewhere in Cambridge, has instead signed a two-year extension on its existing lease and taken additional space at its 301 Binney St. site, near Kendall Square. The extended lease will allow Ironwood to add 93,000 square feet on the fourth floor of the Binney Street building. It now has operations on the building’s second and third floors.

French workers refile case against Bain Capital

A class action lawsuit has been refiled against Bain Capital by a group of French workers who allege that the Boston investment firm fraudulently sold the Samsonite factory where they worked, and helped plan its shutdown to save money. The case, which was previously filed last year, was dismissed without prejudice by the federal court in Boston, saying the statute of limitations had expired. Lawyers for the plaintiffs in the new case say they were permitted to refile if new facts came to light.

Massport to give parking refunds for passengers delayed by Sandy, but it’s complicated

Stranded airline passengers whose cars were stuck at Logan International Airport parking lots in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy can request a partial parking rebate from the Massachusetts Port Authority. Massport, which runs Logan, will refund fees for the period of time beyond passengers’ originally scheduled return dates.

More planes, trains, buses leaving Boston; New York service still limited

More buses, trains, and planes are leaving out of Boston Wednesday, but service to New York is still limited due to flooding and power outages caused Monday by Hurricane Sandy. Megabus started making a few trips between Boston and New York Wednesday afternoon and expects to have a full schedule on Friday. Peter Pan Bus Lines and BoltBus will resume their normal Boston-New York schedule Thursday. At Logan International Airport, JetBlue Airways started flying into John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday and expects to fly into Newark on Thursday.

BTS Asset Management settles charges over misleading ads, SEC says

Lexington investment firm, BTS Asset Management Inc., has agreed to settle charges with federal regulators over misleading advertising about its performance for a $200,000 penalty. According to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s order, made public Wednesday, BTS from the 1990s to 2010 advertised that it had suffered “no down years” in its high yield bond fund program since 1981. BTS neither admitted to nor denied the charges.
