AVEO seeks FDA approval for drug designed to treat advanced kidney cancerAVEO Oncology of Cambridge and Japanese drug maker Astellas Pharma Inc. said Friday that AVEO has submitted a new drug application to the US Food and Drug Administration for a potential treatment for advanced kidney cancer. Their drug candidate is called tivozanib, and the companies said they are seeking FDA approval to market in the US as a treatment for patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma, or RCC, a technical name for advanced kidney cancer. | |||
Paratek files registration statement for proposed IPOParatek Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Friday that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed initial public offering of shares of its common stock. Popular bootmaker Frye Company taking over former Charley’s spot on Newbury StreetThe Frye Company, a popular bootmaker, plans to open a three-story flagship store on Newbury Street next spring in the space formerly occupied by Charley’s restaurant.
