New Balance promotes Minimus 1010 with ads from Arnold Worldwide

New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc., the Boston-based company known for athletic footwear and apparel, said that it recently launched a new ad campaign to support its Minimus Trail running shoe. The campaign was developed by Arnold Worldwide, the Boston shop that is New Balance’s ad agency of record. In March 2011, Arnold unveiled a new tagline for New Balance --- “Let’s Make Excellent Happen” --- and ads for the Minimus Trail shoe continue that theme. There is also a secondary theme, “Connect More with Minimus.”

Fantini & Gorga arranges $13.5m financing for 200 Portland St. in Boston

Fantini & Gorga, a Boston-based mortgage banking firm, said it has arranged a $13.5 million financing for Daejan Holdings PLC on 200 Portland St. in Boston. The transaction involved the refinancing of a 97,000-square-foot office building with ground floor retail, Fantini & Gorga said. The building is located in the Bulfinch Triangle, and it is near the TD Garden. One of its retail tenants is the Harp, a well-known sports bar, Fantini & Gorga said.

Royal Philips to distibute Corindus robot system designed to help clear obstructed arteries

Corindus Vascular Robotics of Natick said that the large Dutch conglomerate Royal Philips Electronics will help distribute its robot system designed for the treatment of patients with obstructed coronary arteries. Under the agreement, Philips will sell the system in the United States. The financial details of the exclusive distribution agreement were not disclosed. Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, the Corindus CorPath 200 is a robotic-assisted system for the minimally invasive treatment of obstructed coronary arteries.

Bristol-Myers takes $1.8b charge on hepatitis C drug

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. has abandoned an experimental hepatitis C pill it bought for $2.5 billion earlier this year after one patient died and others were hospitalized while taking the drug in a study. Bristol-Myers will take a charge of $1.8 billion in the third quarter related to research and development of the therapy, the New York-based company said in a regulatory filing. The drugmaker suspended testing the medicine, known as BMS-986094, on Aug. 1 after a patient developed heart failure.

eClinicalWorks expands Westborough HQ with purchase of $7.7m building

eClinicalWorks, a privately held company specializing in ambulatory clinical systems, announced the expansion of its Westborough headquarters by the purchase of a 61,000-square-foot building for $7.7 million. The purchase of 1 Technology Dr. will be used in conjunction with the company’s 100,000-square-foot location at 2 Technology Dr. and will provide the additional space needed to “accommodate future expansion,” eClinical Works said.

Interleukin Genetics has a new CEO

Interleukin Genetics Inc., a Waltham company that develops and markets genetic tests, said that Lewis H. Bender has resigned as chief executive and as a company board member “to pursue other business opportunities.” The company added that its board of directors has appointed Kenneth S. Kornman, company founder and current president and chief scientific officer, as chief executive and a board member.

Bain documents show Romney investments

Gawker posted hundreds of confidential financial documents from Bain Capital funds that reveal some of the investment details of instruments in which Mitt Romney has stashed vast portions of his wealth. Many of the documents relate to his hedge fund holdings, and to the Cayman Islands branches of Bain private equity funds.

A Nordstrom Rack to open in the Back Bay next spring

Nordstrom Inc., a Seattle-based chain of luxury department stores, said Thursday that it plans to open a two-level Nordstrom Rack store in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood next spring. Nordstom Rack is the chain’s discount division. With about 38,000 square feet of space, the new store will be located at the Newbry, a shopping complex with entrances on both Newbury and Boylston streets, and occupy space previously tenanted by Filene’s Basement. Other Newbry tenants include Boston Sports Club, H&M, and Victoria’s Secret.

Fidelity hails SEC backtrack on money market funds

Fidelity Investments on Thursday cheered the news that Securities and Exchange Commission won’t be adopting stricter rules for money market mutual funds any time soon.

Beal/Street-Works appoints Jones Lang LaSalle as leasing agent for part of $1.6b Quincy project

Beal/Street-Works, the team that looks to redevelop 50 acres of downtown Quincy, has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to be the exclusive leasing agent for the office and medical-office component of the $1.6 billion Quincy Center project. Plans also call for two new hotels, 1,400 residential units, and parking garages providing 5,000 public parking spaces. The project’s office and medical office space accounts for about 1.1 million square feet of the 3.5 million square foot mixed-use project.

Microsoft opens Boston store

Microsoft Corp. pulled out all the stops for the 10 a.m. Thursday opening of its new store in the Prudential Center, where hundreds had gathered in anticipation of the event. As a DJ blasted club music, a tarp fell away to reveal dozens of employees in brightly colored shirts jumping and waving. As the crowd pushed in, they were greeted with high-fives from the enthusiastic young staff. Microsoft also used the occasion to unveil a new corporate logo, a clean, squared-off take on its classic four-tone Windows logo.
