Santander USA announces new chairman
Santander Holdings USA Inc., the owner of Sovereign Bank, said that Jerry A. Grundhofer will be appointed the non-executive chairman of its board. Sovereign is one of the largest regional banks in the Northeast, with a sizable presence in Massachusetts.

AAA: July 4 travel is likely to fall
Holiday travel over the upcoming Fourth of July weekend is projected to fall both nationally and locally, AAA said. Higher gas prices are the big reason why the number of holiday travelers is projected to fall by 2.7 percent in New England. Higher gas prices for cars is making air travel more attractive, AAA added.

Sun Life life insurance product includes long-term care coverage
Sun Life Financial Inc., a Canadian company with a large presence in Wellesley, said it is debuting Sun Care Whole Life, a single premium whole life insurance policy with a linked benefit that owners can apply to long-term care costs, including for in-home care, assisted living, and nursing home facilities.

Average price for gas down 4 cents in Mass.
The average price for gas in Massachusetts fell for the seventh straight week, AAA Southern New England reported today. The average price for self-serve regular is $3.64 per gallon in the Bay State, down four cents in the past week.

Papa Gino’s menu adds Greek salad
Papa Gino’s, the Dedham-based pizza chain, said it has added a new Greek salad to its menu and will bundle the salad as part of its summertime Papa meal promotion.

Monster launches Facebook app
Monster.com, the job-search website, said it has launched an app that helps job searchers to network on Facebook, the social media platform. According to Monster, its BeKnown app enables Facebook users to keep their personal and work-related content completely separate.

Aegerion says stock offering prices at $15.50
Aegerion Pharmaceutical Inc.’s public offering of about 4.3 million shares was priced at $15.50 per share, the drug developer said today.
