John Stephans is the new president of IdeaPaint
IdeaPaint, an Ashland company known for a dry-erase paint that turns any smooth surface into an erasable canvas, said Monday that John Stephans has been appointed to position of president, the top job at the company.
Mass. gas prices fall 3 cents a gallon in latest AAA weekly survey
The average price for gas in Massachusetts was $3.569 a gallon in the latest weekly AAA survey, down 3 cents from the previous week’s average, AAA Southern New England said Monday.
Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School to receive life sciences grants
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, a quasi-public state agency, announced Monday that about $9 million in grants are being allocated to Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School to renovate research labs.
Distribution agreement will help get Myriant products into ‘key European markets’
Myriant Corp., a renewable chemicals company based Quincy, said Monday that it has signed a distribution agreement with BCD Chemie to market some of its products in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
Zagster bike-sharing launches at Cambridge Discovery Park
The Bulfinch Cos., a commercial real estate investment firm, said Zagster has just started providing bike-sharing services at Bulfinch's Cambridge Discovery Park, a roughly 30-acre office and research campus located near the Alewife MBTA station in Cambridge.
Pushcarts can stay in Downtown Crossing through this year, but some need to find new locations
The 28 pushcart vendors who work out of Boston’s Downtown Crossing can stay through the end of 2013, but 14 of them will need to find new locations in the fall because of construction at the former Filene’s site. The plans were disclosed during a meeting Friday with the pushcart owners, city officials, and members of the Downtown Business Improvement District, which had previously proposed eliminating the existing pushcart program after permits expired at the end of March.
FAA delays airport tower closures, including five in Massachusetts, until June 15
The Federal Aviation Administration is delaying the closure of 149 air traffic control towers, including 12 in New England, until June 15 while it deals with legal challenges and proposed changes.
