Love your job? Nominate your organization for The Globe’s Top Places to Work
Love your job and where you work? Tell us all about it. Nominate your organization for The Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work survey, our annual ranking of the most progressive employers in the state. All kinds of employers are eligible, from public and private companies to nonprofits. They have to be operating in Massachusetts and employ more than 50 people. If your organization is nominated and agrees to participate, employees will be surveyed by our partner, WorkPlaceDynamics LLC. Employers will be measured on six factors including leadership and opportunities for training. All responses are confidential, and the results will be published in November, online and in a special Top Places to Work magazine inserted into the Boston Sunday Globe.

Peter Dolan, Harvard endowment’s chief of private equity and venture, leaves high-profile perch
Peter Dolan, Harvard Management Co.’s longtime chief of private equity and venture capital investments, left his post last week, a person briefed on the matter confirmed. Dolan is considered a superstar in the world of private equity, where he controlled a portfolio worth roughly $4.8 billion, or 16 percent of the Harvard University endowment. News of his departure has been the buzz of private equity circles in recent days, as he held a powerful perch. The university did not say what Dolan’s plans were. John Shue, who is currently on the Harvard Management staff, is the interim head of private equity and venture.
Thermo Fisher Scientific to buy Life Technologies Corp. in $13.6b deal
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. agreed Monday to buy diagnostics equipment maker Life Technologies Corp., in a $13.6 billion deal that will significantly expand Waltham-based Thermo Fisher and establish it as a major force in the emerging personalized medicine market.
Massachusetts gas prices drop 9 cents a gallon, AAA Southern New England says
The average price for gas in Massachusetts is $3.479 a gallon in the latest weekly AAA survey, down 9 cents from the previous weekly average, AAA Southern New England said Monday.
Aushon BioSystems appoints Susan Vogt to CEO post
Aushon BioSystems, a Billerica company that provides products and services for the life sciences industry, announced Monday the appointment of Susan Vogt as chief executive. Founder and former CEO Pete Honkanen will assume the role of chief operating officer and continue as a board director, Aushon BioSystems said in a press release.
