The 33,000 square foot store is located at 160 Granite St. in Braintree, replacing the empty Linens ‘n Things store. The subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond offers merchandise for newborns to toddlers, including learning and development products, clothing, strollers, and furniture. The baby-only store concept is a popular approach for new stores at a time when people are carefully spending money. Mass. gas prices down a penny a gallon Gasoline prices in Massachusetts have fallen another penny per gallon this week and are at levels not seen locally since early March, AAA Southern New England said. AAA’s Nov. 7 survey of prices in Massachusetts found gas averaging $3.399 per gallon, down 1 cent from the previous week’s average. The current national average is $3.40 a gallon. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $2.82. Best Buy to acquire mindSHIFT for $167m Best Buy, the big Minnesota-based retail chain, said it has agreed to buy mindSHIFT Technologies Inc. for $167 million. With offices in Boston and roughly 500 employees, mindSHIFT provides cloud services and data center services to small and mid-sized businesses. Best Buy said the transaction will help accelerate Best Buy’s growth in the small and mid-sized business IT services category. Dunkin’ teams with Hillshire Farm for new sausage breakfast sandwich Dunkin’ Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked-goods chain, said it is debuting a new breakfast sandwich that features smoked sausage from Hillshire Farm. The “hearty” new Smokehouse Sausage Breakfast Sandwich will only be available for a limited time at participating stores. This temporary entree will use a toasted English muffin as a delivery platform, and ingredients include egg and melted cheese along with split sausage. Private equity firm plans to buy American Dental Partners American Dental Partners Inc., a Wakefield company that provides business services to dental group practices, has agreed to be acquired by JLL Partners Inc., a New York private equity firm The transaction is valued at $398 million, including $81 million in currently outstanding debt. JLL has agreed to pay to pay $19 per share in cash, which represents a premium of 83 percent to the closing price of the common shares as of Nov. 4. AS&E lands $17.5m contract American Science and Engineering Inc., or AS&E, said that it has received a $17.5 million order for cargo X-ray inspection systems from a Middle East client. A company press release did not further identify the client. AS&E’s advanced cargo inspection systems are deployed to protect ports, borders, military facilities, and critical infrastructure. According to the company, its X-ray inspection systems can detect such potential threats as plastic explosives, plastic weapons, liquid explosives, dirty bombs, and nuclear devices. Cellceutix files FDA application for anti-cancer drug candidate Cellceutix Corp., a Beverly biopharmaceutical company, has filed an Investigational New Drug application for Kevetrin, an anti-cancer drug candidate, with the Food and Drug Administration. The working plan is for a phase one trial to take place at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and its partner hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. According to Cellceutix, Kevetrin is a new class of chemotherapy for the treatment of solid tumors. Amtrak service halts late Sat. for bridge upgrade Amtrak is suspending its Northeast Regional service between Boston and New York City from 4 p.m. Saturday through noon Sunday to replace two century-old bridge spans in Connecticut. The $22.1 million project to upgrade the East/West Harbor Bridge in Stonington, on the Rhode Island border, has been carried out over more than two years. It was funded partly through federal stimulus money. Amtrak says no alternate transportation is being provided during the construction. Chief executive resigns as Amag cuts jobs Amag Pharmaceuticals Inc., the Lexington-based maker of the anemia treatment Feraheme, said that president and chief executive Brian J.G. Pereira has resigned, effective immediately. The company also unveiled a restructuring plan that includes a 25 percent reduction in positions. As a result, 13 employees in Massachusetts are being laid off. Frank Thomas, the company’s chief financial officer, has been appointed as the interim president and chief executive.
