Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim to keep paying board members
Bucking the trend of nonprofit health insurers in Massachusetts halting compensation for board members, Tufts Health Plan today said its board members have decided to keep paying themselves five-figure annual fees despite objections from state Attorney General Martha Coakley.

Morton Hospital opts to join for-profit Steward
The board of Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton has voted to join the growing for-profit hospital chain operated by Steward Health Care, according to Keith Hovan, president of the Southcoast hospital network.

Panel orders Jaffe to pay $1.1 million to Madoff investors
Robert Jaffe, the son-in-law of Boston philanthropists Carl and Ruth Shaprio, has 30 days to pay $1.1 million to investors who allege he solicited money from them and, knowing it was a fraud, still put the funds in a Ponzi scheme run by Bernard Madoff, according to a ruling by a securities arbitration panel ruled.
