Developers Steve Samuels and Weiner Ventures have won the right to build a towering $360 million hotel, residential and retail complex on state-owned property in Boston’s Back Bay, adding to a surge of redevelopment activity in the area, officials said Monday .The Massachusetts Department of Transportation formally selected Samuels and Weiner to build a 400-foot-high complex -- about 32 stories -- near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Boylston Street. The project will include multiple buildings with a hotel, residences and stores. A new Jack Daniel’s ad campaign from Boston ad agency Arnold Worldwide features an impressive line-up of musical talent --- from Frank Sinatra to Freddie King and Mudhoney, just to name a few. According to Arnold, the campaign is titled “Legend,” and it is designed to celebrate Jack Daniel’s place in rock-and-roll history. The average price for gas in Massachusetts is $3.729 a gallon in the latest weekly AAA survey, down 4 cents from the previous week’s average, AAA Southern New England said Monday. Prices locally have risen 13 cents over the past month. The current national average for gas is $3.74 a gallon. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $3.73. The Rockport Co., a Canton footwear brand that aims to design comfortable shoes that are also fashion forward, said Monday that it is renewing its partnership with supermodel Erin Wasson for a marketing campaign titled, “Style in Motion.” “I’m very excited to work with Rockport again for the Spring 2013 season,” Wasson said in a statement. “Rockport definitely pushes the envelope when it comes to its ‘no compromise’ attitude towards style and comfort.” NetBrain Technologies is moving to larger space in Burlington, with plans to open its corporate headquarters at Network Drive at Northwest Park, said a broker involved in lease negotiations. The broker is Jones Lang LaSalle, a real estate services firm. Nordblom Co. owns Network Drive at Northwest Park, a 158-acre campus with 1 million square feet of office space. The park is located on Route 3 at the I-95 intersection. Other tenants include Veracode, Dyax Corp., Avid Technologies, Palomar Medical, Exa Corp., e-Dialog Memento, and Oracle Corp. Sycamore Networks Inc., once one of the state’s hottest young companies of the telecommunications boom, said Monday that it is proceeding with its previously announced liquidation and dissolution in accordance with the plan of complete liquidation and dissolution that the stockholders approved at the Special Meeting, effective as of the close of business on March 7.
