Watertown's athenahealth Inc., a company that provides electronic health record services to doctors and other medical professionals, said it has partnered with a Colorado company that has designed a mobile app that helps consumers resolve medical problems.
TripAdvisor buys Tiny Post for undisclosed sum
TripAdvisor Inc. said Friday that it has acquired Tiny Post, an app that that allows users to write over photos and turn them into stories. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Tiny Post’s operations will be based at TripAdvisor’s Palo Alto, Calif., office. Newton-based TripAdvisor, which allows users to post reviews of airlines, hotels, and vacation resorts on its websites, said Tiny Post’s app is a great fit and shows the possibilities of combining travel photos with social media and mobile devices.
Avid notified it’s no longer in compliance with Nasdaq listing requirements
Avid Technology Inc., a Burlington company that recently postponed its earnings announcement to evaluate its ­accounting practices, said that as expected, it has been notified by Nasdaq that it is no longer in compliance with the stock exchange's listing requirements.
Bed Bath & Beyond sued over using zip codes to allegedly send unwanted junk mail
Bed Bath & Beyond is the latest retailer to be hit with a lawsuit over the collection of zip codes from customers. The complaint, filed in US District Court in Boston Wednesday by Melissa Tyler, accuses the home goods chain of violating the state’s consumer privacy laws by collecting the postal information for credit card purchases and then using it to send junk mail to customers without their permission. Tyler, a Massachusetts resident, earlier sued the crafts chain Michaels Stores on similar grounds. The state Supreme Judicial Court recently ruled in that case that retailers could not require shoppers to provide zip codes to make credit card purchases. Massport approves $54 million in additional funds for Terminal B renovation
The Massachusetts Port Authority gave the Terminal B renovation at Logan International Airport a $54 million boost Thursday, approving the additional funding to finish connecting the terminal’s concourses behind security. The project, slated to cost approximately $124 million by the time it’s finished next year, will also include 24 new ticket counter spots, a consolidated security checkpoint with more lanes, eight new departure lounges, new concession space, and a new baggage carousel.
