Myriant gets $60m investment from Thai company
Myriant Technologies Inc., a Quincy company looking to use bio-based chemicals to make the chemical building blocks for polymers and plastics, announced the closing of a $60 million strategic equity investment from a petrochemical producer in Thailand.

Houghton Mifflin launches Parent Academy
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt said it has launched a Parent Academy in North Carolina. The program would give parents of school children access to materials previously available only to teachers.

Hearing on Mass. foreclosure regulations postponed
SPRINGFIELD -- A public hearing on new Massachusetts rules regarding foreclosure notices and reverse mortgages has been postponed because of the expected snowstorm.

New stores open at the Burlington Mall
Burlington Mall welcomes roughly 10 new stores, including four that sell shoes.

A nonprofit called TiE Boston is launching TiE Angels, which will provide promising early stage start-ups access to capital.

LoJack SafetyNet service debuts in Boston
LoJack, the Westwood company specializing in stolen vehicle recovery systems, announced the Boston availability of its SafetyNet service, which is designed to help quickly find people with autism and Alzheimer's disease who sometimes wander off.

Dogpatch plans move to Microsoft N.E.R.D. campus
Dogpatch Labs, a sort of next-generation incubator for high tech start-ups, said it plans to move its Cambridge operations to much larger space Feb. 1.
