New contest from the Bruins asks fans to devise the next Bruins Hockey Rule, for the team's ongoing marketing campaign.

Caritas purchase wins final state approval
The buy-out of Caritas Christi Health Care, the area's second largest hospital system, won its final state approval this morning when a justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts issued a declaratory judgment permitting the acquisition to go forward.

State economy outpaces US
The state's recovery slowed in the third quarter of the year, but the Massachusetts economy, buoyed by strong technology spending, still expanded at nearly double the rate of the US economy, the University of Massachusetts reported today.

Keane plans to merge with Japanese company
NTT Data Corp. of Japan and Keane Inc., a Boston-based provider of information technology services, said that they have agreed to merge in a deal that will result in Keane becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Data.

Old Sturbridge Village extends CEO’s contract
The Old Sturbridge Village said its board of trustees has voted unanimously to extend to 2014 the contract of the living history museum's president and chief executive officer, Jim Donahue.

FDA approves Sunovion schizophrenia drug
Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. said that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its Latuda drug candidate for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Local traders charged in alleged $30 million fraud
A Hopkinton man was arrested this morning and charged with allegedly defrauding more than 1,000 investors of more than $30 million, the US Department of Justice said today.
