Turner elected to lead SEIU local
Labor activist Veronica Turner has been elected without opposition to lead Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union for a three-year term. Turner, a former employee of Boston Medical Center, succeeds Mike Fadel as the union's executive vice president -- its highest-ranking position.
