National Grid plans to downsize by 1,200 US jobs
National Grid, which delivers electricity and gas to many states in the Northeast including Massachusetts, said it expects to reduce its costs by $200 million through a restructuring that will result in the reduction of about 1,200 positions.

Cotney will permanently head Division of Banks
David J. Cotney, who has served as acting commissioner since November, is new permanent commissioner of the Massachusetts Division of Banks, the office of Governor Deval Patrick said today.
